Three young Emirati men have been arrested by Sharjah Police for allegedly raping a housemaid and stealing valuables from homes.The Sri Lankan domestic help was alone when the suspects visited the home in Sharjah with the intention to steal. However, on seeing the woman alone they allegedly raped her.

One person was killed and another critically injured when police fired at fishermen in Chilaw who had been demanding a reduction in fuel prices.The protestors had been marching from the fish market to the heart of the town, when police first used teargas and then live bullets against them.

SOUTHERN PROVINCE SLTB BUS OPERATORS ON STRIKE
The Southern Province Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) busses have commenced a strike, a Matara depot spokesman told Ada Derana. He added that the decision to strike was taken over demands not yet met.He added that currently all SLTB busses in the Southern Province have joined the strike and will not operate.
